Originally from Milan,Panettone is a dome-shaped
fruitcake made of candied fruit and sultanas, which
is fermented three times and has a texture somewhat
like bread. In the past, common people could not afford
fruit, butter, sugar and other ingredients, but only at
Christmas could they afford to use them to make a cake.
